“Ronaldo told me to join Real Madrid, but it is an honour to play with Messi” – Neymar

 

 

Neymar has revealed that Real Madrid players like Cristiano Ronaldo, Kaka and Marcelo, tried to persuade him to snub Barcelona for Real Madrid this summer.
The 21-year-old has already announced that he would be joining the Catalan club from Santos, after he took advice from members of his family.

“Ronaldo, Kaka, Marcelo… Lots of people said I should sign for Real,” he told Marca.

“But, in the end, I made a decision which I discussed a lot with my family and I’m very happy with the path I’ve chosen to play in Europe.”

The Brazilian forward also reiterated his delight at his imminent move to the Camp Nou and admitted he cannot wait to play alongside Lionel Messi.
“I’ll try to adapt to my new team as soon as possible so I can play at my top level from the start,” he said.

“It’s an honour to be able to play with Messi. I’m very happy; it’s all very special.”
