Obama family’s Thanksgiving feast menu.

American soldiers pray before eating a Thanksgiving meal at a dining hall at the U.S.-led coalition base in Kabul, Afghanistan.

President Barack Obama is spending Thanksgiving at the White House on Thursday with family, friends and staff, enjoying a feast that features six (!) different kinds of pie.

In keeping with tradition, the president also called 10 members of the armed forces deployed in support of the war in Afghanistan, the White House said. He called two in the Army, two in the Air Force, two in the Coast Guard, two in the Marine Corps and two in the Navy.

"The President thanked each of them for their service and sacrifice and wished them and their families a Happy Thanksgiving," the White House said.
